For those of you that have not had the opportunity to visit England, the Cotswolds are a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, located in the south west of England. The area is well known for its rolling countryside, miles of drystone walling and sleepy villages of mellow warm coloured stone cottages, fine houses and impressive churches.
It is a place unspoiled by the passage of time, with a variety of views and aspects that can be enjoyed from so many vantage points in the often steep, dramatic wooded valleys. The richness of the wildlife is a further feature to be enjoyed.
With so much to offer it is, understandably, a very popular area for artists and Derek Rowson is well known for his paintings, particularly of the countryside and wildlife subjects. Exhibitions have resulted in sales worldwide and his paintings now hang in many private collections.
